WEEK 11 PRACTICUM (13/11/2023 - 17/11/2023)
Assalamualaikum and hello everyone. Welcome back to my blog, the place where I share my experiences throughout my practicum journey. It has been a great pleasure for me for having to write my story on this blog. It has already been 11 weeks, just a few weeks left before I finish my internship. Happiness and sadness are one of the few emotions that closely relate to how I feel about knowing that I have a few weeks left. The days are counting and I have to make the best of it.
Wednesday (15/11/2023)
The school started on Wednesday because Monday and Tuesday was public holiday which was a joyous moment for me of course. There was no assembly conducted at the assembly ground but the classes were carried on as usual. My class for the day was with 3 Dahlia. I taught them about the time of day. The words morning, afternoon, evening, and night were reviewed with them. I had them play a game which is called 'Listen to the Speaker'. So, the students will be paired up, sit facing each other, and are given a sweet. The speaker will mention a specific word and if the word is mentioned in the story then the students will have to quickly snatch the sweet before their partner snatches it. The students were very excited and had a lot of fun. After that, I wrapped up the class with a spelling review of the topic words.
There was a co-curriculum activity that evening. It was sports and games for this week so, I went to netball's meeting place which is 3C and 3A. After taking the names of the students for attendance, we went to the field to play netball but around 20 minutes later it was raining. So, we had to go back to the classroom and the students were given board games to play until the school ended at 4.20 p.m. Most of the students chatted among themselves while others just did their own work.
Thursday (16/11/2023)
On Thursday, I had a class with 3 Dahlia. I continued the same topic which was about the time of day. I played some games with them and had them complete a worksheet. During the game session, some students were crying because they were not satisfied with the results so I gave each student 2 sweets to take home. From that moment, I said to myself that this game can only be conducted in certain classes. I did not have any classes to relief for the day so I went to continue completing my lesson plan and journal in the teacher's room.
Friday (17/11/2023)
On Friday, there was a prime Yaasin recitation early in the morning at 7.40 a.m. After that, there was a small speech given by the representative of IPG practicum teachers. Today was their last day at SK Serdang and I was feeling sad because I just got to know them. Next, the students went to their respective classes followed by the teachers. I went to relief a class at 8.40 a.m. I reviewed holiday weather with them because it was the topic they stopped at with their English teacher. Additionally, I played a game with them called 'Hangman'. The students had fun and they all were good and smart kids.
Moving on, I went to the 'surau' to join the banquet prepared by the 'bahasa Arab' and 'Pendidikan Islam' teachers. The food was delicious and tasty. The banquet was for the IPG teachers since today is their last day. Around 12.30 in the afternoon, the banquet finished. I helped the teachers to pack some food and clean the place. After that, I went to solat Jumaat and went home.
In conclusion, this week taught me a lot of things. From classroom activities to social relationships. I learned that I have to make my games not too competitive since some students can't handle losing in the game. I also learned that my voice projection needs to be improved because I noticed some students asked me to repeat what I said a few times. Last but not least, people come and go, so you have to appreciate every moment with them.

2. WEAKNESS
- The way I explain to the students or handle the classroom such as not being stern enough with them.
3. THREATS
- Classroom disruptions such as the students' unexpected behaviour or attitude during the time I was teaching.
4. OPPORTUNITY
- I can learn various ways to manage students with diverse attitudes.
- I can implement the usage of technologies during teaching such as using a projector or a speaker.
