WEEK 13 PRACTICUM (27/11/2023 - 01/12/2023)

    Assalamualaikum and a good day to my readers. I hope that everyone is in great condition and has a blissful life. My practicum is nearing completion at Sekolah Kebangsaan Serdang, just a week left. Honestly, I can't wait to graduate and further my studies at another place to gain experience and knowledge. This post will be about my experiences in week 13. Do look forward to it.

Monday (27/11/2023)

    On Monday, I had a class with 4 Kenanga at 9.10 a.m. I continued the same topic with them which is about 'Get Active'. Some of the students went to go for training during my class. They were training for netball and 'olahraga'. I prepared some worksheets for them to do to assess their comprehension of what I taught them. Some students need more guidance and few are able to understand the topic. Besides my class with 4K, nothing much happened just a few class that I have to go relief.

Tuesday (28/11/2023)

    On Tuesday, I did a revision with 4 Kenanga on their vocabulary about the topic Get Active. I had them do a spelling quiz to check their spelling. Some of them got most words correct while the others got few incorrect spellings. After my class with them, I returned to the teacher's room to complete my lesson plan and journal.

Wednesday (29/11/2023)

    The co-curriculum on this day was the last for 2023 school session and it was sports and club activity. My club did some stretching and answered a quiz prepared by the teacher in charge of the club. The questions in the quiz were easy and all are related to handball. After that, I went to help some teachers decorate the stage at 'Sudut Minda' for a teacher's retirement event.

Thursday (30/11/2023)

    I had a class with 3 Dahlia at 11.30 a.m. until the school ended. My free time before that class was filled me completing my lesson plan and journal. Later that evening, there was a retirement party for a teacher at 'Sudut Minda' comprising of only the teachers and staff.

Friday (1/12/2023)

    I had nothing much to do on that day except going to relief classes and submitting my lesson plan to the office.

SWOT ANALYSIS

CLASSROOM

1. STRENGTH

• I can know my students' proficiency level, although not accurate but there are results.
• My patience in handling their attitude in the classroom. 
• I am able to differentiate the time for punishment and rewards.

2. WEAKNESS

• I'm not stern with the students which led to the situation where the students are not listening to me.
• My classroom management skill is one of the factors that are contributing to the class chaos.
• My voice when I'm teaching in the classroom.

3. OPPORTUNITY

• I get to build relationships with the students.
• I also get to experiment with various teaching strategies in the classroom.
• Pushing the limits of my creativity to grab the students' attention.

4. THREATS

• The students' unexpected disruption during classroom teaching.
• External distractions such as announcements or unrelated voices outside the classroom.
• My materials for the classroom is not attractive or interesting enough.
